‘Undercurrents’ – Flint Water Dances

A collaboration for Global Water Dances 2017. As part of the creative process groups Adesola worked with participant dancers to make ‘movement post-cards’ in Places along the Flint Water Front (Riverbank Park) designed by Lawrence Halprin and Associates in mid-1970s. The project was instigated by local community and partners wanting to voice stories of living in Flint during the Flint Water crisis. Undercurrents was the part of the collaboration Adesola co-created with community participants. The Flint water crisis began in 2014 when insufficient water treatment allowed lead to leach into the infrastructure of the city’s water pipes. In 2019 this problem is still not corrected.
